Stinky Is Good In A Garden Of Lies

Genevieve Landau hung up the phone. It was the second time that month that one phone call lifted her spirits. She never wanted to sell Patience’s house because she always hoped and prayed she would come home. But when she drove by the home and didn’t recognize it, she knew it was time. The fact that the new owner wanted to look at pictures of the house gave her hope that they would love it the way she knew Patience would have.
Donnie Landau looked at his twin sister. “Mother has that goofy look on her face again. Agnes and Dayna called today. Patience’s house sold a few days ago and they want to bring the new buyer by to look at pictures.”
Gracie closed the door to the study. She always had mixed emotions when the subject of Patience came up. She had lived in her little sister’s shadow before she was born, and it had been a nightmare since she went away. Their parents treated her like a princess, but they had no idea how evil she was.
“I mean, when is it going to end? You did take care of it?” she whispered. “Patience isn’t coming back, is she?”
“You worry too much.” He touched her cheek. “Of course I took care of it.”
