Stinky Is Good In A Garden Of Lies

“We can’t thank you all enough for coming over to help us out.” Ben leaned against Brad’s truck.
“Yes, we would’ve never cleared away that attic. And wasn’t it exciting that we found the box for Genevieve?”
The agreements were lukewarm. They were mentally exhausted; each had a heap of fears mounted on their shoulders. They just wanted to go home.
“We’re gonna get cleaned up,” Xavier took Dayna’s hand. “And kick back on the sofa for the rest of the day. Let us know if you need anything. We’re just a stone’s throw away.”
“Bye Mr. Thoms.” Dayna teased. “Try not to wait another twenty years to show that gorgeous face of yours.”
Xavier stood between them. “Hey!”
“Don’t worry,” she addressed the group. “Mr. Thom’s is taken. He’s gonna get married.”
Larry was the first to extend his hand. “Congrats, man. We’d love to meet her.”
“Not on your pathetic lives!”
They laughed and talked for a while longer, but it wasn’t until they said their final goodbyes did anyone realize Agnes was gone.
