“What were they thinking?” Danica stood back and surveyed the evidence neatly placed on the table.
Chuck couldn’t understand it either. “Tonya definitely had the knack for being at the right place at the right time, and in some cases, with sophisticated equipment.”
He tapped a gloved finger on one of the photographs. “And this fool. How in the world did he become Superintendent? If he’s gonna dress up like that, he should close his blinds.”
Danica chuckled and shook her head. She didn’t know what to make of it, but she was impressed with Tonya’s documentation. “Had she possessed any scruples, she could’ve made an honest living doing this.”
One of the young technicians sat upright in her seat. She punched in letters and numbers at breakneck speed. Her head whipped around. “Detectives, I found what you’re looking for.”
Chuck looked over at Danica, then back to the computer screen. A thin smile formed on his lips. “Let’s make sure everything is by the book.” He drummed his fingers against the back of the chair. “We don’t want anyone to get away on a technicality.”
